Ship's surgeon, trader, merchant, landowner. Born Fifshire, Scotland in 1781, Berry spent some years as a ship's surgeon and trader in the Pacific before settling in Sydney as a merchant in 1819. He took up a land grant in the Shoalhaven River district in 1822. Berry was a member of the Legislative Council, 1856-1861. He died in Sydney in 1873.
